The relationship of a true disciple of Jesus Christ to his Lord and Master is intensely personal, and unless he can honestly say with Thomas, “My Lord and my God” (Jn. 20:28), his profession of faith profits him little. And until the truths of scripture are made personal by meditation and application, they profit the learner little. The epistles and the Psalms expounded in this volume each attend to the attaining of these ends, enabling the reader to say with David, “My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord” (Psa. 104:34).
