FirstLove Ministries (first called FirstLove Publications) was founded in 2006 by Pastor Joe Jacowitz as a ministry of Christ Bible Church with the publication of a book on missions called, The New Testament Missionary. Since then, over 500,000 sound Christian books have been distributed worldwide, free of charge, at pastors’ conferences, bible conferences, and ordered online. The roots of FirstLove Ministries date back to 1988, when a partnership in evangelism and missions was established between Chapel Library and L.R. Shelton, Jr. (Pensacola, Florida) and FirstLove Ministries. Under the leadership of Pastor Jacowitz, the ministry has grown over the past 20 years with the publication of over 80 books, mission trips to plant and assist churches in three continents, development of FirstLove Radio, and establishment of Grace Bible University.
Considering the long-term mission and purpose of the ministry, a new religious non-profit organization was formed and incorporated in April 2025. The new Board of Directors met, and approved FirstLove Missions (dba as FirstLove Ministries) as a new religious non-profit corporation in Virginia. The Board of Directors, consisting of mainly local pastors, will have oversight of the organization, with the new Officers providing day-to-day management of the operations. All the Directors and Officers are active members of local churches who are in support of their role in FirstLove Ministries.
The goal and purpose of FirstLove Ministries has not changed, as we continue to work to facilitate the advancement of the glorious gospel at home and abroad, without charge and without compromise. We continue to exist for one reason: to bring honor and glory to God. Operations will continue as they have in the past, with only minor administrative changes in the main address of the organization to send donations, and a new bank account for the receipt and disbursement of funds.
